The Beyond Zero ice maker turns spirits, such as vodka and whiskey, into ice cubes...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN\u003cbr/\u003e              A Kentucky-based startup wants to change the way we drink our spirits and wine with an innovative approach to cooling.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Beyond Zero ice maker turns spirits, such as vodka and whiskey, into ice cubes that then cool drinks without diluting them with water.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE\u003cbr/\u003e              This might look like a regular diamond-shaped ice cube.\u003cbr/\u003e              But instead of being made by water, which slowly dissolves in a drink and dilutes it with water, this cube is made entirely out of vodka.\u003cbr/\u003e              Other ice cubes in this machine are made out of whiskey.\u003cbr/\u003e              This machine, called Beyond Zero, cools the liquor down to -112 F (-80 C), beyond the point where high-alcohol liquor freezes.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jason Sherman, who invented the machine, says it solves the age-old bartending problem of the ice diluting drinks with water.\u003cbr/\u003e              The machines are available for 4,999 US Dollars, but if you are a serious drinker you probably want to add an ice storage for another 4,999 US Dollars.\u003cbr/\u003e              Not cheap, but Sherman thinks there is a market for high-end and powerful ice makers for alcoholic liquids.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I envision this anywhere people like to have a great cocktail,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Beyond Zero machine is being shown at the CES Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas.
