STORYLINE:              It's the place to be...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              The Beirut International Arab Book Fair is back in Lebanon for the 61st year in a row.\u003cbr/\u003e              But publishers warn sales of paper books are declining.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              It's the place to be for Lebanon's bibliophiles.\u003cbr/\u003e              Beirut is once again hosting the International Arab Book Fair, one of the largest for the publishing industry in the Middle East.\u003cbr/\u003e              And it's an event with real pedigree - now in its 61st edition, it has run every year since its inception. Not even the civil war of the 1980s put a stop to this haven for book lovers.\u003cbr/\u003e              Thousands of people meander past metre after metre of book shelves, browsing the latest releases.\u003cbr/\u003e              Organisers estimate around 200,000 people visit the fair each year.\u003cbr/\u003e              And 225 publishing houses from across the entire Arab world are displaying their titles this year, presenting their authors to the public and meeting business partners.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Participation this year was good, similar to that of last year and we hope that it will be better in the years to come,\" says Fadi Tamim, President of the Beirut International Arab Book Fair.\u003cbr/\u003e              Fiction, novels, poetry, scientific, religious, or children's books, everything can be found at the fair. \u003cbr/\u003e              And taking a prime spot right at the main entrance is prestigious Lebanese publisher Riad el-Rayyes Books.\u003cbr/\u003e              Stand manager Nasser Feliti says the company goes to all Arab book fairs, and especially this one.\u003cbr/\u003e              But he feels the industry is facing a lot of challenges.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Paper books are on the decline and the readers as well and the crises in the region are having an effect, as well as piracy which is affecting all institutions including ours.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              But fair is filled with people keen to own physical books rather than the digital versions. \u003cbr/\u003e              And there is more to do than just buy books.\u003cbr/\u003e              Writers are here to sign their latest titles and talk about them with the audience.
