STORYLINE:              Heart disease patient Mohammed...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              There's a shortage of vital medicines in Yemen. \u003cbr/\u003e              A blockade on air and seaports has meant supplies are struggling to reach pharmacies.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              Heart disease patient Mohammed Ali Al-Anesi is heading to the pharmacy.\u003cbr/\u003e              He needs medicines to cope with his condition.\u003cbr/\u003e              But laying his hands on the correct prescription is tricky.\u003cbr/\u003e              The pharmacist tells him that he doesn't have the pills in stock.\u003cbr/\u003e              So Al-Anesi heads next door to another pharmacist to see if he'll have more luck there.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"We suffer from shortages of medicines in government hospitals and sometimes they do not exist at all,\" says Al-Anesi. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"Pharmacies are shut down in several hospitals and if they (medicines) are found away from government hospitals they will be at very high prices.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Medication supplies have dwindled due to Yemen's war. \u003cbr/\u003e              A Saudi-led blockade has made it difficult for the products to enter the country.\u003cbr/\u003e              Restrictions have been in place throughout the conflict but the Saudis closed airports and seaports in Yemen earlier this month after a rebel ballistic missile attack on Riyadh.\u003cbr/\u003e              They agreed to begin reopening the crucial entry points on Monday after widespread international criticism.\u003cbr/\u003e              The UN and over 20 aid groups said the closures could bring millions of people closer to \"starvation and death\".\u003cbr/\u003e              A fresh supply of stock can not come soon enough for pharmacist Wahid Mohammed.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"We are now experiencing a real crisis because of the closure of the ports and because of the fighting. Medicines for chronic diseases are almost nonexistent,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              Saudi Arabia's UN ambassador has denied that there has been an embargo on Yemen, saying \"a temporary procedure\" was taken for a few days to ensure the safety and security of Yemenis and Saudis and supplies were available.\u003cbr/\u003e              Omar Al-Oraiqi, the official in charge of medications in the Yemeni Ministry of Health under the control of Houthi rebels, says health care has become a \"humanitarian disaster\".\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Before, there was a crisis and difficulty in importing medicines not only for the ministry or traders, but there is a difficulty for international organisations in getting medicines into Yemen.
