The dance event aimed to attract new visitors to enjoy the impressive landscape and build bridges with the local Bedouin community.     ...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              Hundreds of techno lovers descended on Wadi Rum for a desert rave.\u003cbr/\u003e              The dance event aimed to attract new visitors to enjoy the impressive landscape and build bridges with the local Bedouin community.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              As the sun sets over Wadi Rum, the music starts pumping.\u003cbr/\u003e              The desert landscape will be awake long into the night as it hosts an Arabic techno rave.\u003cbr/\u003e              It's called Sa7raoui 2 and has brought together music lovers from Europe and the Middle East.\u003cbr/\u003e              The event is organised by Jordanian DJ Shadi Khries who wants to build bridges between the ravers and the local Bedouins.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Foreigners like to come here and to share life and to share work with original people in the desert,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              As night falls, the desert lights up.\u003cbr/\u003e              And Khries' beats are unusual in Jordan - he mixes traditional Arabic sounds with techno in a country where this electronic music scene is very small.\u003cbr/\u003e              The tunes are a big draw for music fans from both the Middle East and Europe, giving the local community more tourism opportunities.\u003cbr/\u003e              Ali Hamed al-Zalabia owns the Sunrise Camp where the rave is being held.\u003cbr/\u003e              He says it is a great idea to bring new visitors to the area, different to the routine jeep tours and camel rides.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"If there wasn't music, they wouldn't go, they wouldn't come to Jordan,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              Khries started Sa7raoui last year.\u003cbr/\u003e              It ties in with Jordan's agenda making the Hashemite Kingdom a cultural hub in the Middle East.\u003cbr/\u003e              Around 200 people have come to this year's event. \u003cbr/\u003e              French student Paul Pacini has travelled from Beirut with five friends to listen to Khries' music and explore Wadi Rum.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"It was really great, it was really atypical, it was a unique experience to do this, to be in the middle of the desert,\" he says. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"It's a visual slap in the face when you arrive. The place, the people, the music was great. Everyone was gathered, there was a real connection, the Bedouins were really nice to us, I loved it.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              People from all cultures and backgrounds dance side by side on the red sand. \u003cbr/\u003e              And Khries has plans for something even bigger.\u003cbr/\u003e              He's in the process of organising the Wadi Rum Electro Festival which will launch next year. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"We are waiting to build a space in the desert that will be comfortable to come here and to make this kind of festival,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              So Wadi Rum's impressive landscape and the Bedouin people who live here look likely to welcome many more techno fans in the future.\u003cbr/\u003e            \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e              Wadi Rum - 13 October 2017\u003cbr/\u003e              1.
