The annual Monaco Yacht Show is opening with multi-million dollar mega-yachts the star attractions.\u003cbr/\u003e              And while macro economic shifts might not worry the average yacht-purchasing millionaire, the environment does.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE:\u003cbr/\u003e              Monte-Carlo's Port Hercule is packed for the glitzy annual Monaco Yacht Show.\u003cbr/\u003e              This year's sprawling event is showcasing 125 so-called super yachts, hitting a total of about 3.3 billion euros.\u003cbr/\u003e              In total, there are around 580 exhibitors attending from about 38 different countries, showcasing everything from mega yachts to helicopters and personal submarines.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"We're talking about a lifestyle market and the clients that come here to Monaco, this is one of their pleasures and one of their lifestyle facilities. To live a life, yachting is a great life to live, but you fly in your private jet to that yacht and you travel from your home in New York or your home in Miami or your place in China, you travel to enjoy anywhere around the world,\" says Andrew Winch from London-based Winch Design.\u003cbr/\u003e              Experts say the super yacht market - meaning measuring over 30 metres - is stable. \u003cbr/\u003e              According to the Superyacht Annual Report, there were 138 super yacht orders placed in 2016 and 139 deliveries.\u003cbr/\u003e              William Mathieson from the Superyacht Group says ultra-wealthy yacht buyers might not be affected my macro economics, but the lower end of the market certainly is.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"They're insulated from what we would look at as macro economic forces to a degree and that certainly is a buffer to the top end of the market,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"There is a lower end of the market and we're talking about a super yacht, 30 metres and above as an entry-level threshold, it's fair to say that at that end of the market it's slightly more precarious and that size of the market has started to slow somewhat, it still comprises over 75 percent of the fleet.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Elsewhere at the glamourous, four-day yacht-fest there's a trend towards environmentally-friendly yachting - less emissions also means more fuel-efficient and less wasteful sailing.\u003cbr/\u003e              Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts is showcasing its eco-friendly 'Home', a 40-metre super yacht equipped with a hybrid propulsion system that's claimed to operate near silent in electric mode.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I want to make a greener boat,\" says Winch. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"I want yachts to leave no footprint, I want them to arrive at a beautiful beach and leave no rubbish, and there's too much rubbish being left around, so I would like to be building and am building very ethically good, great yachts.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Mathieson says there's certainly a move towards greener yachting.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"The yachting market is aware like any that in order to engage with today's clients you have to embrace their need to be socially responsible,\" he says. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"Many have a genuine desire to protect the environment and the oceans in which they sail, others more cynically are interested in their public reputation.
