Malibu is the highest per capita celebrity city in the world and there is a tour that takes curious...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eLEADIN:\u003cbr/\u003e              From movies and TV to music, Malibu, California has always been what Hollywood legend is made of. \u003cbr/\u003e              Malibu is the highest per capita celebrity city in the world and there is a tour that takes curious visitors for a look at it's history and the tabloid-making headline hot spots.\u003cbr/\u003e              STORYLINE: \u003cbr/\u003e              California Dreamin' can now be experienced, at least for a few hours, with the \"Malibu Movie \u0026amp; Celebrity Lifestyle Tour\" - giving tourists a chance to experience life in the celebrity enclave.\u003cbr/\u003e              Tour guide Ken Fasola begins with a drive along what is nicknamed Billionaires Row, along Pacific Coast Highway.\u003cbr/\u003e              Only 13 thousand people live in Malibu, the same amount when the city was incorporated in 1991, but a whopping 13 million tourists visit each year. \u003cbr/\u003e              Fasola says people are drawn to Malibu because of its infusion of casual living, beautiful scenery, and the spirit of those who live here.\u003cbr/\u003e              His tour lasts three hours and offers a journey through Malibu's history, where hundreds of movies and TV shows have been shot over the years.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Our tour is about the Malibu lifestyle. Why? Everybody in the world has heard about Malibu. Most people don't understand what it's all about, Is it Beverly Hills? Is it Hollywood? No, Malibu is this little oasis away from Los Angeles where celebrities, movie stars, wealthy people and average people live or come to visit just to get away, relax and enjoy the natural beauty.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Visitation to the state of California for 2017 has been forecasted to increase by 2.1 percent, according to Visit California and Tourism Economics. \u003cbr/\u003e              The 27 mile-long coastline city is also known as the location of choice for celebrities who want to live in seclusion, within acres of nature but close to several trendy hotspots.\u003cbr/\u003e              Most large homes front on to the beachside while others pepper the mountainside.\u003cbr/\u003e              Cher's house is pointed out - facing straight out to the ocean.\u003cbr/\u003e              Aside from celebrity homes, another notable spot is Surfrider Beach - one of the most popular in all of California.\u003cbr/\u003e              Movies shot on these beaches include Beach Blanket Bingo, many Elvis Presley films and the Lethal Weapon franchise.\u003cbr/\u003e              One of those soaking up the atmosphere on the tour is Nori Antal, 43, a property manager who lives in Hungary.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I absolutely love it, as you know in my country, we don't have a sea. We have a beautiful huge lake and we have a bunch of rivers. Just look around here, it is so calming, so peaceful. It's just a dream come true for anybody who comes here really.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              Fellow tourist, Mariia Liasachenko, 29, lives in Dubai, also seems to be a fan of Malibu.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"It's so great. It's such fresh air. It's a laid back environment. It's like you're in a movie yourself and all this celebrity vibe but very chill, great beaches, just great weather all the year, I suppose.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              But while tourists admire the untouched and pristine landscape, the biggest issue for the city officials is keeping the area under-developed.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jefferson Wagner, senior council member and former mayor of Malibu, says the area remains relaxed and secluded because residents have fought to keep it that way.\u003cbr/\u003e              In 1991, it was voted a \"no growth\" city meaning that you cannot build a house unless there is or was an existing house on the lot.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Well, what we managed to do here, as an administrator, is keep our rural nature and that is in our code. Our DNA of the city of Malibu says you will maintain a rural nature so that those visitors that come here can enjoy what we've managed to keep a handle on and that is development. We are low impact on our developments. We only allow low impact developments, no big high-rises, no monster mega-homes. We control it as an administration for the benefit of the millions of people that come here in the future,\" says Wagner.\u003cbr/\u003e              The tour continues, featuring celebrity hotspots such as Moonshadows restaurant, where Mel Gibson was arrested in 2006, and Nobu, a favourite among the stars.\u003cbr/\u003e              Malibu Country Mart is the central meeting place for residents and celebrity sightings are a regular occurrence.\u003cbr/\u003e              Another highlight of the tour is The Paramount Ranch, one of the busiest former movie sets from the 1920's to mid-1940's.\u003cbr/\u003e              Celebrities who shot here included John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Henry Fonda, Burt Lancaster, Roy Rogers, Kirk Douglas Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Barbara Stanwyck, Marlene Dietrich, Jane Russell and more.\u003cbr/\u003e              Today, the live sets are gone but the Western town remains and was refurbished in 1984.\u003cbr/\u003e              It is still frequently used for filming, such as the recent HBO series, Westworld.\u003cbr/\u003e              Nearby, Malibu Lake is where movies such as Gone With the Wind, Frankenstein and the TV show Twin Peaks were shot. \u003cbr/\u003e              After a long day's sight-seeing, the tour group are able to enjoy another highlight of Malibu - the local wine.\u003cbr/\u003e              Even this tasting room boasts of the infamous faces who have worked and lived nearby - a final reminder of Malibu's rich movie history and grand Hollywood legacy.\u003cbr/\u003e            \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e              Santa Monica - 26 July 2017\u003cbr/\u003e              1.
