Nearby a large ruby dazzles in cut diamonds in a necklace worth 6250 US Dollars.\u003cbr/\u003e              They're just two of the magnificent pieces of jewellery on show at the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai.\u003cbr/\u003e              The show seeks to promote Brand India in the global jewellery market showcasing new manufacturing technology and innovative design skills.\u003cbr/\u003e              India is one of the largest exporters of gems and jewellery with more than 500,000 large and small manufacturers and traders in the business.\u003cbr/\u003e              With the gems and jewellery sector witnessing wide-ranging changes in consumer preferences, major market players are experimenting with new designs, textures and materials. \u003cbr/\u003e              A remote-operated miniature car with intricate silver design is another piece on display at the show.\u003cbr/\u003e              India is the world's largest cutting and polishing centre for diamonds and accounts for 95 per cent of global diamond exports, according to the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). \u003cbr/\u003e              Diamonds may be forever but it seems consumers also want them bigger. One manufacturer at the show has found a clever way to make his diamonds appear larger than their actual size.\u003cbr/\u003e              Hasu Dholakia, Chief Executive officer of Kisna Collection explains his company is using a sapphire-crystal magnifying glass over their diamonds to create an optical illusion.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"Until now everyone is trying to give a bigger look with the lower values. So this year we come up with the collection, which has Sapphire crystal magnifying glass on the top of the diamond. So ten pointers appear to be like 20 or 30 pointers. So the customer can spend 10,000 rupees (approximately 150 US Dollars) and get 30,000 rupees value (approximately 470 US Dollars),\" says Dholakia.\u003cbr/\u003e              A variety of new designs are on show from foreign jewellery makers who are hoping to garner a share of India's massive jewellery buying market.\u003cbr/\u003e              Karolina Klepacki, the daughter of the owner of Klepaccy Silver company in Poland, says she wants to make Polish amber more popular in India.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"People don't know what is this,\" says Klepacki. \"So we want to make customers also aware and make an international relationship.\"\u003cbr/\u003e              A delegation of buyers from China is among those scouting for wares at the show.\u003cbr/\u003e              India has become the second largest exporter of diamonds, gems and stones to China, according to India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) run by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.\u003cbr/\u003e              Eleena Chael, a jewellery manufacturer from Shenzhen in China says she likes the styles and designs on display at the exhibition since she couldn't find anything like them at the Hong Kong jewellery show which she normally goes to.\u003cbr/\u003e              Chael explains that Indian and Chinese businesses are collaborating closely in this sector with many wholesalers buying diamonds from India and designing them in Chinese factories.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jewels hold a special place in Indian cultural tradition, especially for weddings and festival celebrations.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jewellery designer Dishi Somani says the latest consumer trends in India are veering towards diamonds and solitaires set in different shapes. \u003cbr/\u003e              \"You know bangles set into emeralds or the precious settings. And also solitaire settings like heart shape and single stone setting. So all these things I think are catching on the trend right now,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003e              Somani adds that the recently introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) may have some impact on the market as retailers and consumers are waiting to see how it might affect prices.\u003cbr/\u003e              Gold however remains the metal of choice for the Indian consumer as it is seen not merely as jewellery but as an investment.\u003cbr/\u003e              Among the popular displays at the show is a shimmering gold dress with an undisclosed price tag.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jewellery makers say the fluctuations in the gold market are part of a wider trend and reflect the slowdown in the global economy and a decline in the demand for luxury goods.\u003cbr/\u003e              According to the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, gems and jewellery exports from India are likely to witness a growth of about 10 per cent this year due to increasing demand in the U.S. and Europe.\u003cbr/\u003e              India's primary export destinations for gems and jewellery include Europe, Japan, China, UAE and the US.\u003cbr/\u003e              The Indian government has set the exports target for the sector at 60 billion US Dollars by 2022.\u003cbr/\u003e              Jewellery manufacturers are hopeful that business will improve with the onset of the upcoming festive season.\u003cbr/\u003e              \"I am feeling positive about the market and we are expecting the demand will grow before Diwali and we will get good orders from here,\" says Keyur Nagar, a partner at MN Jewels in Western Surat city.\u003cbr/\u003e              The India International Jewellery Show has emerged as one of region's biggest exhibitions for fostering partnerships and driving greater business in the gems and jewellery sector.\u003cbr/\u003e              It's running from 27 to 31 July 2017.\u003cbr/\u003e            \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e              Mumbai, India  –  27 July 2017\u003cbr/\u003e              1.
