Over 160 exhibitors from more than 19 different countries are showcasing their latest robotics developments, from humanoid droids, to drones and prosthetics.That includes China-based Sanbot that's showcasing this cloud-enabled service robot, able to work in a variety of settings - from retail and hospitality, to education and healthcare.But, it can't - and shouldn't - be able to do everything, claims Ten Wu from Sanbot.\"It is just the beginning for the robot because not so many people know about robots, but most of the people, they are very interested (in) robots because it is robots. But we know that many people, they only know what a robot can do, they want robots to do everything. Actually, robots now cannot do everything. Robots can be used, it needs to be simple, but useful for this kind of scenario. So, that's why we think that we need to have a useful programme in the robot and the robot in the right scenario. Then it will helpful, can be assistant for this kind of scenario,\" he says.Netherlands-based CurveTips is showcasing how its personal stylist algorithms can be incorporated into a robot for dispensing fashion advice.This Eventbot asks a variety of questions, users answer using their smartphone. Then, using a combination of clothing analysis, user behaviour and information on the user's body shape, the robot is able to recommend clothing items that flatter their unique figure and style.\"Our system has been powering e-commerce sites for the last six years, so we have hundreds of millions of shopping interactions, almost a million women have told us all about their bodies and we've helped them shop through various websites around the world,\" says CurveTip CEO Mike Rogero.\"The only thing that's different about this technology is that we've taken technology that was designed for the web and we've brought it in the stores through robots. \"So the robot itself is simply an extension of technology that's been used for a very long time.\"Panasonic is demonstrating this autonomous delivery robot called Hospi. As its name suggests, it's originally intended to be used in hospitals, helping deliver drugs or other important items to doctors dotted around the wards.But key account manager Julie Savino says they've since expanded to hotels, letting Hospi deliver items to guests or dispensing advice to visitors on arrival.\"Hospi has been developed for hospitals,\" she explains. \"Hospi is moving in hospitals delivering medicine, not it's used in hotels, can deliver some bottles of water at the entrance, can help you at the entrance to let you know when is the next shuttle bus and Hospi is full of our technology in terms of sensors.\"The market for voice-assisted speakers is small, but growing. Research firm eMarketer expects usage to more than double this year, as nearly 36 million Americans use such a device at least once a month. Amazon's Echo is expected to continue its dominance, with a share of nearly 71 percent, though eMarketer expects Google's home speaker to cut into that share in the coming years.South Korea-based Innoplaylab is showcasing a further step towards automation with this voice-controlled personal assistant called iJINI. The difference? It's on wheels.Software developer Robbin Sondak from Innoplaylab says iJINI is able to roam around the home monitoring security or keeping watch over children using its video camera. He says it's going one step further than immobile voice-assistance speakers - literally.\"If you look right now, Alexa is going into the home, same with Google's system, so I think a robot is the next step from that,\" says Sondak. \"It moves around and it can control the environment in your home. So, I think people will be able to adapt to this quite fast.\"It may seem impressive, but aside from vacuum-cleaning droids like Roomba, robotics is yet to truly catch on among consumers.\"The technology to go domestic and in our life, our daily life, the (problem) is batteries, the (problem) is unforeseeable environments and changing environments, safety, security of the people and one of the most biggest impediments is what for?\" says Innorobo CEO Catherine Simon.\"Like we still didn't answer the question what for and I think we need to have that vision of a society that we build at our service and service of our planet with robotics and benefiting from these technologies. \"Currently, we take the technologies and say; 'We have great technologies,' and then when we say; 'What for?'
