Hicham al-Demairi, the Chairman of Egypt Tourism Authority, says that safety is a priority for the government and that the number of tourists visiting Egypt has dropped almost 30 percent in the last few years. He says that in 2016 only 5.3 million visitors came to the country. Most of those visiting were from continental Europe but al-Demairi says they are pushing to create new travel markets by diversifying the industry. \"We have now tried to open new markets whether it's Eastern Europe or in the Far-East or in Latin America,\" he adds.The Arabian Travel Market continues until Wednesday 26 April.Dubai, UAE  - 24 April 20171. So we know that the tourism sector - be it in Hurghada, Sharm el Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan, or Cairo, is safe. Thank God there are no incidents for tourists at all.\"5. First of all, the return of airlines completely to the tourism or the Egyptian sectors - Germany has lifted the ban completely, the Scandinavian countries lifted the ban completely.
