The Father Luigi Giussani who began our group, Communion and Liberation, when he was visiting he looked at the bridge and he said 'It looks like a church.' I mean the way the arches of the towers are and he said it's a church without a cross. So we bring a cross over the bridge. Also of course it's very public look it makes for a great photo op.\" 3. People are a little jittery. The Middle East is in turmoil and Christians are persecuted. Various shots of bridge. STORYLINE: Hundreds of people marked Good Friday by walking over the Brooklyn Bridge behind a person holding the Cross. It's become an annual tradition in New York, hosted by Communion and Liberation, a Catholic group. This is the twenty-second year it's been held. Along the way worshippers commemorate the five Stations of the Cross with prayers and song.
