Lennert Adamsson likened the patients' injuries to what would normally be seen after a car accident with fractures, limb amputations, and internal bleeding. But in this case, with much higher numbers than he has ever seen at one time. \"It was a scene with several injuries here in this room, patients with bleedings, problems to breathe, brain injuries. We started to operate in that room (points to adjoining room) in some minutes, we started operating within five minutes, there inside.\"Karolinska University Hospital, the trauma centre for the Stockholm area, saw 10 severally injured victims. Just two days before the Friday attack, Lennert and staff had been preparing for a mass trauma situation as part of their regularly scheduled training. \"The most important thing is you have to know that you work in a team, the team is the most important thing, you can't do it by yourself and that you psychologically prepared that this can happen and we have known now for some years that this will happen but we didn't know when. So we train every year, \" said Lennert.
