Truly, this is a huge cultural event here.\"There are 1,200 pavilions at the fair with publishers from 28 countries in the Middle East and beyond.Rana Idriss, from Dar al-Adab publishing house, has brought a huge selection of books here, including the award winning \"Naranja\" by Dr. Joukha Al Harithi.She considers the book fair an opportunity to meet her customers.\"We're here to learn from them so that one day they can learn through our books,\" she says.  And there's more to the event than just selling books.Muscat's famous museum Bait Al Zubair joined the festival this year as part of the programme to increase cultural activities.There's a range of presentations and discussion forums available.\"The most important thing is the exchange of knowledge,\" says Mohammed Al Shahi, general manager of the Bait Al Zubair Foundation.\"This festival is not just a chance to sell, trade or buy books.
