Yesterday I asked (the rescuers): 'Did any of you descend? Because if an injured person got out of there, did some of you go down there to verify whether the girl was telling the truth about there being a body, an arm?' They told me they didn't know.\"   8. Sign exterior reading 'Civil Hospital'STORYLINEThe father of one of those missing after an avalanche destroyed a hotel in central Italy said he had driven up to the site with the rescue but had been prevented from getting close to the site.Alessio Feniello, whose son, Stefano Feniello, is among 23 people still missing after the avalanche struck near the famed Gran Sasso massif last Wednesday, according to authorities.Stefano's girlfriend was rescued and told his father that after the avalanche hit she was using a torch on her mobile to look around and she could see an arm, which she thought was his son's.She said he was moaning and could not speak.Feniello, who originally had been wrongly told his son had also been rescued, said no one was able to confirm whether rescuers had tried to reach the person his son's girlfriend had been talking about.Prosecutors are investigating if the hotel should have been evacuated when roads were still open, given the heavy snowfall in the region.Italian newspapers on Monday reproduced what they said was an email sent by the hotel owner to local and provincial authorities that afternoon asking for help because \"the situation has become worrisome.\"\"Those who died, have been killed.
