The mid-range Honor 6x comes with dual cameras, a 5.5-inch HD screen and with a price tag of 249 US dollars.STORY-LINEThis is the Honor 6x, the mid-range smartphone from Honor, a sub-brand to the Chinese smartphone giant Huawei.The smartphone has been available in Asia since October but will now be available in North America and Europe after the company released further details at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The handset has 32 gigabytes of storage, 3 GB of RAM, a slot for an SD card for additional storage, dual SIM cards slots and a large 3340 milliampere hour battery.The 6x will be available immediately in North America for 249 dollars and in Europe for 249 euros.The device comes with a metal body and a fingerprint sensor that Nicole Scott, editor of the Mobilegeeks technology news website calls \"excellent.\"The 5.5-inch smartphone comes with a dual camera system on the back, one is 12 megapixels and the other 2 megapixels, and an 8 megapixel front facing \"selfie camera.\"\"Taking a look at the camera, I was very impressed with the low-light performance,\" says Scott.Honor was established as a sub-brand of Huawei in 2013, mostly to compete with low budget competitors in China.It has since expanded to Europe and North America with the launch of the 5x at CES in 2015.The company launched the more high-end premium Honor 8 smartphone last year.\"The 6x is again kind of going back to their roots of like a solid budget competitor where you can't kind of beat the bang for the buck that you are going to get with their device,\" says Scott.LG and Samsung are among the other big brand names set to unveil their latest technology at CES. To stand apart you need to have a few really excellent things, a good camera, all metal chassis. But where smartphones are increasingly standing apart is the fingerprint sensor.
