Ginbot 7 states its mission as the realisation of \"a national political system in which government power and political authority is assumed through peaceful and democratic process based on the free will and choice of citizens of the country.\"Businesses have been a target of protesters over suspected government links, hurting Ethiopia's reputation as one of Africa's best-performing economies.A Turkish cable factory in Addis Ababa was attacked and burned by protestors.The town of Sebeta saw almost a dozen factories and dozens of vehicles burned. The Ethiopian authorities describe the anti-government protesters and armed opposition groups as 'anti-peace forces', and have pointed the finger at Egypt, blaming it for supporting outlawed rebels. Ethiopia claimed to have evidence that Egypt was providing \"financial and training support for terrorist elements\".\"We know for a fact that the terrorist group OLF has been receiving all kinds of support from Egypt. Its leaders have been feted, I mean they used to be in Asmara, now they are feted in Cairo, and of course have been given all kinds of instructions to destabilise this country,\" says Ethiopia's Communication Affairs Minister and government spokesman Getachew Reda at a news conference in Addis Ababa.In Cairo meanwhile, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman made a statement in response to the accusations, denying what he called \"attempts by some malicious parties to discord relations between both countries\".He denied reports that Egypt had supported the OLF in any way.The Renaissance Dam project currently underway is also a source of tension. Egypt relies heavily on the Nile river as a water source and believes the dam will decrease its water supply and impact on its 55 billion cubic metre share of the river's water.The Ethiopian side claims the dam would be useful in generating power, and that it would not harm Egypt or Sudan.Political analyst Anwar Othman says the Egyptian media is playing a large role in the unrest.\"It seems that the Ethiopian opposition is active in a big way inside Egyptian territory, according to the latest updates - videos published and numerous interviews conducted by a number of Egyptian media outlets,\" he says.According to Human Rights Watch, security forces have killed hundreds of peaceful protesters, arrested tens of thousands and mistreated those in detention over the last 11 months, which has led in part to the anger that has spilled over in recent weeks.Addis Ababa - 17 October 20161.
