Speaking at event at Council of Foreign Relations in New York, Zarif said \"that there cannot be a deal in our region based on the exclusion of one the important parties, and I believe Saudi Arabia is an extremely important partner hopefully in this region. \"Zarif also said that any riff between Iran and Russia over how to proceed in Syria is over blown. \"I think we are not competing with Russia, I think we have similar objectives, obviously no two countries have exactly identical objectives - and that is as far as fighting terrorism, fighting Daesh, fighting al-Nusra and confident that Russia is as interested in bringing peace and a ceasefire,\" said Zarif.Zarif also claimed that Iran has lived up to its end of the Iran Nuclear Deal, but said the U.S. is stalling in holding up its end of the bargain. Zarif said that the U.S. has not given international businesses the clear go ahead to do business with Iran, leaving many such business to take what he describe as the \"safe road\" \"No major European bank has started doing business with Iran 8 months after the deal,\" said Zarif.He said that while the deal is still popular with the many in Iranian public, people in his country are starting to distrust the U.S. because they not seen the progress many thought would come after the deal.
