Speaking at Council of Foreign Relations in New York on Friday, Zarif said that there couldn't be a deal in the region based on the exclusion of one of the important parties, and that Saudi Arabia was an extremely important party.Zarif also said that any rift between Iran and Russia over how to proceed in Syria is overblown. He also claimed that Iran had lived up to its end of the nuclear deal, but that the US was stalling in holding up its part of the bargain. Zarif said that the US hadn't given international businesses the clear go ahead to do business with Iran, leaving many businesses to take what he described as the \"safe road\".He said that while the deal was still popular with many Iranians, people in his country were starting to distrust the US because they hadn't seen the progress that they thought would come.New York - 23 September 20161.
