Wide of people meetingLEADINReligious groups in the United States are increasingly using beer to aid their discussions.Many hold meetings in local bars or simply bring beverages to seminars to help people relax.STORYLINEThe beer is flowing and so is the conversation at this Wisconsin bar. The topic on the table ? Religion.\"They know what it is to talk about their faith in a church but most people have never done it in a bar\", says pastor at CollectiveMKE church Brandon Brown, adding: \"A beer or two doesn't hurt the conversation at all.\"CollectiveMKE church doesn't have a traditional building, so Brandon holds these \"Jesus and Beer\" meetings in local bars once a month.They normally attract a dozen or so people, one of whom is Angela Caddell. She stopped going to traditional church regularly 14 years ago because of its stance on gay people.But she says being a lesbian makes no difference to the way she's treated at Jesus and Beer. \"I'm totally welcome\", she adds.The Basilica of St. Josaphat in Milwaukee and its partner churches use beer as a recruiting tool, especially when dealing with younger people.They run a gathering called 'Brewing the Faith', where there's a speaker, discussion and of course a free beer. Emily Burds is the director of Evangelisation at The Basilica: \"We see 'Brewing the Faith' not as an end but definitely as a means to an end.
