The president pledged his -- any needed assistance to the Turkish government as they conduct investigation to determine exactly what happened. The President's expectations is that the people in Turkey are -- want to see a full investigation, and accountability for those who are complicit in the failed coup. The President also believes that, that investigation should be conducted consistent with the democratic principles that are enshrined in Turkey's constitution. And that includes committed to due process, that includes a commitment to the basic rights that are enshrined in Turkey's constitution, like freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly.\"3.
