STORY-LINE:Four of the world's top super cars lined up and ready for action. The 'Scenic Rush' driving experience is filling a niche market for car fanatics. The adrenaline fuelled tours are the brainchild of local entrepreneurs Thom Boecker and Bryan Kohare who found inspiration from their own exotic driving experience through Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas.Customers get to explore the spectacular natural beauty of the Vancouver coastline, while fulfilling a lifelong dream of driving luxury sports cars. This impressive selection includes a $300,000 CAD ($235,400 US) Lamborghini, Audi Quattro, Ferrari and the fastest of them all is the Corvette Z06 with 650 horse power, which sends drivers from zero to 60 miles per hour (96.5 kmph) in three and half seconds.Boecker says he was looking to create a holiday-based driving adventure with plenty of thrills, but with safety of paramount importance. \"We're in front with the support vehicle and behind as well, and we're going to be sticking to speeds that are at a safe speed. There's a good balance between fun and safety. If you're going the speed limit you could be impeding traffic and that may not be safe either, so if you're driving safely with the flow of traffic, that's usually a nice safe speed. It's definitely not a racetrack experience so we're not going to be going at the top speed these cars can go, but there's going to be an opportunity to enjoy the cars and feel the acceleration and the power and still have a great time, while doing it safely,\" he says. Each customer takes part in a safety drill to get to know each of the four cars, before getting behind the wheel.With the focus on safety, the tours are seasonal and run between the start of April until late October. Boecker says all of the sites used in their tours have been risk-assessed, and the weather conditions are monitored throughout the day so customers never drive in dangerous conditions.\"We only operate on nice days. So if it's raining, we'll work with our guests to reschedule so that they enjoy this experience on a nice sunny day, when the roads are dry and its not too slippery. These cars can handle wet roads, but if you're driving a Ferrari or a Lamborghini for the first time ever, you want to be able to feel safe doing so, so we definitely accommodate any weather interruptions, we'll work with them on that,\" says Boecker.The growing numbers of customers, who are largely male, include tourists and locals looking for the excitement of driving the ultimate fast car. Many local businesses are now discovering the experience is a unique team-building exercise. And for some, it's a life-long dream come true.\"I'm not a petrol head but ever since I was a little kid, the only way you could get close to these cars is from Hot Wheels (toy cars),\" says Kal Sidhu. \"So I've been playing with Hot Wheels my whole life, and my son does now and so this is totally exciting to actually drive the toy cars, although they're not toys.\"While Aaron Smith anticipates the experience will be like going on a scary ride. \"I'm going to be in control of it so I think I trust myself but this is going to be a completely new experience,\" he says. The engines rumble and the drivers wait in anticipation. They're seemingly as charged and fuelled up as the cars they're driving.All four vehicles head north, winding along the Sea to Sky Highway. The road between West Vancouver and Squamish, also known as Highway 99, provides almost 20 miles (32.1 km) of breathtaking scenery. The cars hug the coastline, taking the winding road along the dramatic cliff line, zigzagging backwards and forwards, blending panoramic views and adrenaline fuelled thrills at every bend. The drivers take pit stops along the way, where they're able to swap vehicles and enjoy the views. For Marie Vandenberg, the experience is unlike any other. \"I've done a lot of like the skydiving, and bungy jumping and stuff so it's in a realm of its own though, just driving a Ferrari, like, how many people can say that they got to drive a Ferrari on a beautiful day on the Sea to Sky (Highway route). I don't know if you can beat it that way, right? I drive a little Hyundai Elantra, so driving a Ferrari is a little bit different,\" she says.While Carlos Jimenez found it just as exciting to be a passenger. \"Just seeing the scenery, seeing the other cars following each other, just experiencing the whole thing was incredible. The seats kind of hug your sides, just awesome, absolutely awesome. There was a little display that was showing us the g-force going one way or the other, and just the whole being there was just amazing.\"Having swapped cars, the drivers get another speed fix, this time navigating with more confidence.
