The trip was organised by Dr Syed Kamall, a member of the European Parliament who is a writer and a speaker on the issue of radicalisation. Kamall witnessed the Mumbai attack in 2008 and became passionate about helping at-risk youths find a way to avoid radicalisation. He said that football was a way of bringing children together. Molenbeek coach Azzedine Befatma said he was close to being radicalised himself.Now he brings children together in the Brussels neighbourhood of Molenbeek and teaches them how to become team mates in life, instead of losing their lives to radicalisation. They get on the pitch. They can get their release there. Us, as educators, I don't think we are really qualified to discuss this with the youngsters but I think we also have our role to play. We can give advise on football, even on behaviour in the streets, in daily life.\" 5. Various of the match6. SOUNDBITE (English) Dr Syed Kamall, MEP, Leader of the third largest group in the European Parliament (the European Conservatives and Reformists group):\"When I met the project from my constituency in London I thought it was very powerful how sport is a unifying force to bring people together, but actually it really worked in terms of stopping young people going to Syria to be radicalised, and I think what's really fascinating about this is the fact that here is a similar project in Molenbeek, working with kids or children from similar backgrounds even if from a different country and actually using football in a very similar way. I think it is powerful given that people see Molenbeek in a very negative way after the attacks in Paris and after the attacks in Brussels, and here we see a good news story about how local communities are trying to tackle the problems themselves.\" 7. But I think that the youngsters of today are really super. True, sometimes there are problems but they can be fixed. Here, they get us into football and off the streets.\"9. We need to realise that these are making us human. The main one is to be human. That in itself should be enough for us to come together, for us to be able to live in peace and harmony, because we don't need to fight. Using our similarities will end all violence.
