Medium of BlogHer decorationSTORYLINE:CROW EMPOWERS WOMEN, GELLAR TALKS PRESIDENTIAL RACE AT BLOGGING EVENTThousands of women and a few men gathered in downtown Los Angeles to hear inspirational thoughts from other powerful females including singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow and actress-turned entrepreneur-Sarah Michelle Gellar.Sheryl Crow is celebrating her ten-year anniversary of being cancer-free. In February of 2006 Crow underwent surgery due to breast cancer. A nine-time Grammy winner, she is best known for such hit songs as \"Soak Up the Sun\" and \"All I Want to Do\". At the blogging conference for women all she wanted to do was to continue to raise awareness for breast cancer.\"Well I make time for breast cancer events because breast cancer was a monumental moment in my life but in this particular instance I'm working with the genius 3-D check technology and I'm so – I'm just really honored to be aligned with it and I'm excited and I'm also in awe with what's happening in technology and the advancements that are being made in breast cancer,\" said Crow. \"In this particular 3-D mammography machine they are able to detect cancer 15 months earlier than they would be with just the conventional mammography machine so to me it's just a great story, a great story of hope and I want to make sure that women know about it and know where to go to get this particular kind of mammography.\"Since beating cancer Crow has become an advocate for healthy eating and supporting other women fighting the disease. Crow, 54 also believes women need to do a better job of putting themselves first. She admitted when she discovered she had cancer she was a caretaker to many around her. \"I also and I'm not perfect at this but I do believe that with the amount of stress that we live with now which is largely imposed by allowing it in that we have to hold all of that somewhere in ourselves,\" said Crow. \"We are made up of cells and energy. It's a food crafting brand that sells baking kits for kids. Gellar was asked what her thoughts were in regards to the US presidential election and hesitantly answered, worrying she would lose any customers to her new business. \"It is a very tricky position to be in, in terms of – – I have respect for both parties and people are allowed to have different viewpoints,\" Gellar hesitantly said. \"I am incredibly honored that my daughter lives in a time where she sees that a woman can be possibly be president.
