Also addressing the forum is Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.Abu Ghazaleh says many of the goals of the Arab League are the same as those sought by the UN plan.\"How we can eliminate poverty, how we can improve environmental conditions, and how, in the current circumstances in the middle of conflicts which are destroying the efforts of development, how we can assist and contribute to develop these areas witnessing conflicts and clashes,\" she explains. This new plan is a comprehensive plan, political, technical, economic, social and environmental, and is aimed at the preservation of the planet, and aims to improve the life of mankind in order (for everyone) to have a decent life. The implementation of the agenda faces great challenges in the Arab countries, (one of) the biggest challenges is the foreign occupation as we see in Palestine, the people live under occupation, so it's hard to for them to achieve their development goals, or even advance their potential. The occupation is eliminating freedom. The other challenge is conflicts (in various nations), the conflicts have wiped out decades of development achieved by these countries, and send these countries back half a century at least, as what is happening in some countries is their internal fighting. There are also cumulative challenges relating to development and the ability of countries to diversify their economies, and the ability of states to advance services offered to citizens.\" 10.
