Although Millsap was late to catch onto Indian food, it's become one of his favorite cuisines. \"The first time I had Indian food I was almost 18, I think,\" Millsap said. \"And it was just like, 'What is this? Why I have I not had this food before?' I was kind of upset.\"\"I wanted to learn how to cook,\" Millsap said. \"And it turns out that my fiddle player Dan worked at an Indian restaurant for a long time. So he had some skills that he kind of taught me about but I mostly ignore them. Sorry, Dan.\"Millsap got his start playing gigs in Oklahoma at pizza restaurants for a few bucks and a pizza. But sometimes those gigs didn't (pizza) pan out.\"It was just me and Mike just as a duo and we got this gig and they were like, 'We'll give you 25 bucks and a pizza.' 'Great. Perfect. We'll be there.' So we went and did the gig and it's us opening for like a pop punk Christian band. And it's in this tiny pizza place and they have like six people. So we get there, we do the gig and it's like time for the pizza. And we go and ask, 'Where's our pizza?' And they are like, 'Oh, the pizza was for everybody to share.' They had one pizza for like 10 guys. And, of course, the other band ate it and didn't tell us about it. So we never played there again. And that's a true story.\"Millsap said he's still learning a lot about cooking, such as how to properly clean spinach.\"I got the spinach but I didn't rinse it. I just threw it in and then it was all done and I was like, 'Oh, it smells great.' And I tasted it and it was going to be great and then we put it in bowls and as we were eating it, there is like this grit. It turns out there is like a ton of dirt in spinach and you have to wash it off or else your food is going to taste like dirt. So we each ate, like what, we each ate a bowl of it. A good amount of sand and dirt. But then after that Meg is like, 'OK, I can't do it.' She's like, 'Usually I can just plow through it.
