STORY-LINE:A facial with a difference.  Incorporating extracts of real pearls, the signature pearl facial is said to add youth to aging skin.The facial is part of \"The Dubai Pearl Journey\" treatment for couples offered at Dubai's new Four Seasons Resort in Jumeirah.It costs around one thousand five hundred US dollars.The pearls are a reminder of Dubai's history as a Gulf pearl diving hub.The treatment also incorporates other natural products from the region such as rose water, frankincense and natural Arabian perfume oud made from agarwood.   Hayley Bluett, director of the Four Season Pearl Spa explains:  \"A couple, will come in and have a bubble bath together with scented candlelight, with canapes, caviar and champagne.  Then they will go on to have our signature massage where we use special ingredients which speak to the local culture.  We have Arabian oud, frankincense and rose.\"After the massage comes the pearl extract facial and then at the end the couple get to take home a real pearl.The Four Seasons Resort opened last November and is the first of three Four Seasons hotels to open in the UAE.The four-storey hotel, with Arabic and Spanish architectural influences, has 237 rooms, including 49 suites.It's on a prime beach front site in an upscale old residential area in Jumeirah.There are two outdoor pools and one indoor pool and tennis courtsSimon Casson, regional vice president and general manager says many people are surprised that the Four Seasons has taken so long to open up in Dubai.\"For us it's been a long-awaited opening, and many people have asked us why we have not been in Dubai this past decade  and of course we wish we had been.  We would love to have been here earlier but we would prefer to be in the right place than perhaps have come in in a compromised destination earlier.\"The opening comes as the Dubai government is in the midst of trying to double tourism arrival numbers from 10 million to 20 million a year by 2020.According to real estate specialists, Jones Lang Lasalle, Dubai already has 65-thousand hotel rooms and this number is likely to grow at a rate of seven per cent a year until the year 2020.In addition to the projected tourism increases, the year 2020 will also see additional visitors arriving for Dubai's Expo 2020.More than 20-thousand new rooms are planned or under construction and many of these are very high end branded hotels including the Four Season, St Regis, Mandarin Oriental and the Bulgari.\"Dubai is entering the stage of luxury hospitality even further because we are witnessing the entry to the market of very important luxury hospitality chains,\" says Chiheb Ben Mahmoud, Head of Hotels and Hospitality Group, for Jones Lang Lasalle.With so many rooms being constructed some may predict a saturation in the market.  But Mahmoud says currently there are just not enough hotel rooms. He says the average hotel occupancy rate in Dubai throughout the year is around 80 per cent. During the popular winter months rates are much higher leading to a lack of competitiveness in the city.\"On the world stage it reached the point where the competitiveness was impacted and so this is why it is important to have a new supply in order for Dubai to be able to attract large conferences, conventions.\"Dubai property developer, Nakheel has announced that it plans to open more than 11-thousand hotel and hotel apartment rooms on the man-made Palm Jumeirah.New hotels include the W Hotel, The Langham and a Dukes London.As well as luxury brands Chiheb Ben Mahmoud says a mid-market range is due to develop with more good quality international and regional franchises opening.AP TELEVISIONDubai - May 18th, 20151 Wide shot of therapist doing facial massage2.
