What the government did instead was destroy homes and left us sleeping in our boats,\" says Ahmad el Ali, a fisherman.Some can be seen resting under duvets in their vessels.Ali says the government's action has forced people out of their jobs.\"After they destroyed the port, there wasn't anywhere left for all the fishing boats. The majority of the fishermen took their boats outside of the port and stopped fishing as a business,\" he says.Fishing boats sit next to rows of concrete blocks, an uncomfortable reminder that they are slowly being pushed out of the area.But some of the fishermen are determined to continue their work.\"We're not going to allow the government to prevent the fishermen from fishing, the public from practicing hobbies, such as swimming, or kids riding their bicycles across the shores,\" says Amer Mahfouz, a fisherman.\"Families come to Dalieh to spend their day. It is unacceptable that over night, they close a public beach and prevent any access,\" he adds.Individuals have have come together to form a  coalition called \"The Civil Campaign to Protect the Dalieh of Raouche\".Local NGO Nahoo is part of the group.Ayoub says they are planning events to make their message heard.He says Nahoo is organising a  \"big campaign which will take place with a public gathering on June 13th at Ramlet el Bayda\".\"This campaign is trying to defend the rights of public areas, especially the coasts of Beirut, which is witnessing drastic violations,\" he
