We are doing runs now, we've got the show up on it's feet and it's a fantastic, it's such a loved film, everyone knows the film, such a loved film. So the challenge is to make you feel like you're seeing something different but keep what you love in there as well. But I think a film is very different and a West End show is very different and so using the platform of the West End show, using the music and the choreography and the performers, who are different kind of performers to the film, all that has meant that our show is completely different to the film.\"4. When you mention 'Bend It Like Beckham' people still remember it with such fondness and it still gets played on TV. I know friends of mine have seen it in Australia recently. It's such a great film and also a brilliant show. So imagine that fantastic story but weaved in with some amazing music, weaved in to create this real emotional roller coaster of feelings that the audience will feel. They're going to love it.\"8. Howard Goodall is my composer, Charles Hart my lyricist he did 'The Phantom of the Opera,' so it is very much a West End show but it has a delicious West London Punjabi flavor going all the way through it. Not Bollywood but West London Punjabi. So it's Bangra, more folk sort of Punjabi stuff, so it's a very nice blend and in some ways it's a little bit like a modern version of 'Fiddler on the Roof' but set in Southall if that makes sense.\"10. Jamie Campbell Bower posing for photographersCHADHA AND CAST OF HER 'BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM' MUSICAL ATTEND THE ASIAN AWARDS IN LONDONFilm director Gurinder Chadha and cast of her new West End musical \"Bend It Like Beckham\" attended The Asian Awards in London on Friday (17 APRIL 2015).The fifth annual event, a global celebration of Pan Asian excellence, was held in the capital's Grosvenor House Hotel, where stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Zayn Malik and John Rocha were honored.Chadha's upcoming West End extravaganza, who's cast includes Preeya Kalidas and Jamie Campbell Bower, put on an exclusive performance during the event.\"It's great,\" said Chadha, \"I can't believe we're about three weeks away from previews in the West End. It's the first time we've performed together.\"Also feeling the pressure was actor Campbell Bower, who's taking on the role of coach Joe.\"I think there's pressure with any job, you know there's some die hard fans of the film but that only gives us more fans I guess from the offset,\" he said.Kalidas also pointed out just how much the story is relevant today.\"The story resonates with various communities with all cultures. So it's Bangra, more folk sort of Punjabi stuff, so it's a very nice blend and in some ways it's a little bit like a modern version of 'Fiddler on the Roof' but set in Southall if that makes sense.\"The British film, released in 2002 staring Keira Knightley and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, was directed by Chadha and won multiple awards worldwide.\"Bend It Like Beckham - The Musical\" hits the
