And it was just very heartfelt and we had to get back there.\"\u003cbr/\u003eTogether with many other high profile musicians, Springsteen was involved in the collective 1980s campaign against apartheid organized by original E-Street Band guitarist Steve van Zandt.\u003cbr/\u003eIn 1988, Springsteen also headlined the Amnesty International tour in support of Human Rights - playing worldwide dates, including in neighboring Zimbabwe and the Ivory Coast.\u003cbr/\u003e\"And of course Nelson Mandela's passing which meant so much to the whole world and for us too, being here in '88, it was kind of a pivotal moment for us,\" Springsteen continued.  \"We stumbled onto the crossroads of history by accident, I suppose. And so it's exciting, it's beautiful here and we have been here a few days, we've gotten around some little towns, it's just lovely.
