opposition leader Mariano Rajoy, from the centre right Popular Party.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of Zapatero's policies have sharply divided the electorate in the historically Catholic country.\u003cbr/\u003eHis government's more controversial measures include quicker divorce proceedings, the teaching of \"Citizenship\" in schools and the legalisation of gay
