struck last week in the western city of Ternopil.\u003cbr/\u003eBlood tests have yet to determine how many of these deaths were from the new and aggressive H1N1 strain.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever the World Health Organisation said in a statement on Tuesday that most flu cases in Ukraine can be assumed to be H1N1, \"as the pandemic virus has rapidly become the dominant influenza strain worldwide.\" said many EU member states are ready to provide logistical and medical support to Ukrainian authorities. \u003cbr/\u003eAustria, Hungary, and Slovenia have already said they will send disinfectants, Red Cross workers handed out preventive medical supplies to a large crowd of locals.\u003cbr/\u003eYanukovich and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, both candidates for the upcoming January presidential elections, have been quick to try and take the lead on handling the issue of the outbreak.\u003cbr/\u003eFor her part, Tymoshenko toured an infectious diseases hospital on Lvov on Wednesday, just a day after visiting a similar hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk, one of the worst affected areas of the country.\u003cbr/\u003eShe later met with regional leaders to explain the the government's measures to
