Hearing room\u003cbr/\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eIn an historic Saturday session the United States House Judiciary Committee debated the fourth and final article of impeachment against U-S President Bill Clinton. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Friday, they approved three other articles of impeachment accusing Clinton of perjury before a grand jury, perjury in the Paula Jones civil lawsuit and obstruction of justice.\u003cbr/\u003eSaturday's debate continued to be split along  party lines,  with Republicans denying that they're acting as a lynch-mob and Democrats calling the whole process a \"coup.\"\u003cbr/\u003eEarly on during Saturday's debate on Article Four of impeachment, which accuses the president of abuse of power, Republican Representative George Gekas of Pennsylvania urged legislators to drop certain components of the article.\u003cbr/\u003eHe called for the dismissal of allegations that U-S President Clinton deceived the American people, misled his aides and frivolously asserted legal privileges to thwart the investigation of the Monica Lewinsky affair.\u003cbr/\u003eHouse Judiciary Committee chair Henry Hyde and some other Republicans agreed to the motion.\u003cbr/\u003eThis reduced the fourth article of impeachment to an allegation that Clinton \"made perjurious, false and misleading sworn statements\" in his written responses to some of the 81 questions.  \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"While I think it is abused in this case, I think it is not at all uncommon for attorneys to exercise executive privilege on behalf of their clients.
