Defence attorney Tom Sneddon walks towards courthouse\u003cbr/\u003eThe mother of Michael Jackson's accuser continued her testimony on Friday and faced what promised to be a rough cross-examination.\u003cbr/\u003eWhen court opened, prosecutors in Jackson's child molestation trial showed videotapes found in a private investigator's office.\u003cbr/\u003eThe tapes were presented to demonstrate how the pop star's associates closely monitored the accuser's family while he, his mother and siblings were allegedly being held captive.\u003cbr/\u003eMuch of the footage was taken in mid-February 2003, when prosecutors say the family was being kept at Jackson's Neverland ranch because the pop star's associates wanted them to help rebut a damaging documentary. \u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors contend Jackson associates tried to prevent escape by threatening to harm people close to them.\u003cbr/\u003eThe tapes, some of which had time stamps showing they were shot as early as 4:48 a-m, were taken from the office of an investigator hired by former Jackson attorney Mark Geragos.\u003cbr/\u003eJurors were also shown a recording of men cleaning out and removing furniture from the family's cramped East Los Angeles apartment. \u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors contend Jackson associates took the family's items and kept them after the family left Neverland. The video was dated March 5, 2003, and the family left Neverland for the last time a week later.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter the tape concluded, Judge Rodney S. Melville called for cross-examination to begin. \u003cbr/\u003eThe questioning of the mother by lead defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. was expected to be one of the most heated episodes in the trial.\u003cbr/\u003eMesereau repeatedly has told jurors the woman ripped off celebrities and other targets by exploiting her son's fight with cancer, and also has accused her of filing a past lawsuit that Mesereau says was bogus. \u003cbr/\u003eThe family received a settlement of more than 150-thousand-dollars after alleging they were roughed up by department store security
