Brian Milton and Keith Reynolds are marking the 125th anniversary of Jules Verne's...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eTwo British men will make history at the end of March when they attempt to turn fiction into fact and  fly around the world in 80 days.  \u003cbr/\u003eBrian Milton and Keith Reynolds are marking the 125th anniversary of Jules Verne's publication \"Around the World in 80 Days\" by following as closely as possible the balloon route of its hero, Phileas Fogg.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Milton and Reynolds are not travelling by balloon, they are attempting the journey in a microlight.\u003cbr/\u003eMilton and Reynolds will start an epic voyage across the globe in a microlight from London some time at the end of March -- and they hope to arrive back there in July.\u003cbr/\u003eThe journey will be undertaken in an aircraft, which Milton describes as a large hang-glider with a motorbike slung underneath.\u003cbr/\u003eIt will be the smallest and lightest aircraft to attempt such a dangerous journey.\u003cbr/\u003eThe flight around the world in 80 days will take the two pilots over 25 countries covering a distance of over 24-thousand miles.  It will set new records for microlight flying.\u003cbr/\u003eMilton, a 55 year-old journalist and father of two, already holds the record for the longest and fastest microlight flight from London to Sydney.  He completed this in 59 days in 1987.\u003cbr/\u003eReynolds is a microlight instructor and a former British national hang-gliding champion.\u003cbr/\u003eBut  for both men, the journey will be a real test of physical endurance, as with an open cockpit, they will be totally exposed to the elements. \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"Really the weather.  As you can see today it's fairly breezy.  When we set off we're going to attempt to do this in 80 days, so we're going to have to battle through some weather that we wouldn't normally fly in, particularly in the mountains, where the weather can change so quickly.  And  over the long stretches of open sea we're somewhat committed, once we've done 200 or 300 miles to make landfall. Because once we've made it into Anchorage we've cracked it.  I know we got across the Rockies and the whole of the United States and Canada and the Atlantic. But the roughest parts of the journey, in my opinion is going to be at the beginning, going over the Alps, the Saudi desert,  the Burmese mountains, going up the east coast of China, the Alutien Islands, where they've got fog and 50 miles an hour wind, which I think is going to be dreadful.
