In an exclusive interview with APTN, Benjamin Netanyahu says the children's...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eIsrael's prime minister has criticised President Bill Clinton for comments he made over the suffering of the children of Palestinian prisoners. \u003cbr/\u003eIn an exclusive interview with APTN, Benjamin Netanyahu says the children's suffering cannot be compared to that of the Israeli victims of Palestinian atrocities.\u003cbr/\u003eHis remarks came after a day in which President Clinton honoured Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat with a visit and endorsed the \"legitimate rights\" of Palestinians.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Erez crossing, linking Israel and the Palestinian-controlled territories.\u003cbr/\u003eIt was here that President Clinton, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Arafat were due to meet late on Monday for a trilateral summit.\u003cbr/\u003eBut difficulties over prisoner releases and Israeli troop withdrawals from the West Bank meant the summit was delayed until early on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe meeting is set to be a difficult one.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the interview with APTN, Netanyahu said a number of his demands had to be met to move the peace process forward.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also criticised Clinton's remarks - made on Monday in Gaza - comparing the children of jailed Palestinians to Israeli children who lost their fathers in terrorist attacks.\u003cbr/\u003eClinton told the Palestine National Council meeting in the Gaza Strip that he had been touched by the encounters with Israeli and Palestinian children during his visit. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said a way had to be found \"for both sets of children to get their lives back and to go\u003cbr/\u003eforward\".\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I hope he didn't mean what you are implying because there's a world of difference between the children of murderers who are in jail and the children of those who were murdered. So we want to see full compliance, we believe agreement should be complied with.
