Liza (Minnelli) has it and she's not an old star but there is a certain power that certain people had. Kim Novak has it and she is not that old, that the Bogart's had and the Gregory Pecks and the Katharine Hepburn's of course and Bette Davis and stuff. But we used to like people in films that were different than we were, that were bigger than life and all of that. Bette Davis and people like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly and Cary Grant that didn't look like the people that live next door. Now we want everybody to look like the waitress that waited on us at the hamburger stand. You get someone even as beautiful as Michelle Pfeiffer and they deglamorize her. Charlize Theron, they don't want that and I miss that. One of the things that's great about going to the movies, at one time was, you went into a world with people, kind of like dream people that you would fantasize you'd like to be, but that's not the way it is anymore.\"\u003cbr/\u003e\"Cabaret,\" star Michael York says some of the old glamor is missing today:\u003cbr/\u003e\"Things change, ideas of glamor change, it's that everyone wants to be a celebrity now which is fine, but you've got to earn it first.\"\u003cbr/\u003e\"Dallas,\" star Patrick Duffy's biggest years were from 1978-1991, while the CBS sitcom was on the air. Even during that time, he says Hollywood was very different: \u003cbr/\u003e\"I miss the mystery, because there is so much media now, there are so many avenues that it's not an intrusion of your life, but it's just an exposing of the average life and there is no mystery anymore. I think that was an element that makes us reminisce and feel nostalgic about old movies and old times.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAmerican actress Tippi Hedren has been working in Hollywood since the 50's. Hedren won a Golden Globe award for one of her most famous roles in Alfred Hitchcock's, \"The Birds.\" \u003cbr/\u003eShe says the studio system was never the same after the explosion of mainstream television in the late 50's.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I miss the fact that the studio system doesn't work anymore, that it went away and that was because of the advent of the television screen. The television screen literally invaded our homes and everybody in the 50's all they were doing was staying home and watching television. So the films, people weren't going to the movies anymore and it just kind of went away. I was at the very end of it so I got a little bit of it. So it's so great to have and be at a studio and have all of the lessons, the education, that you really need to be an actor. Things like how ....the singing lessons, the dancing lessons, the elocution lessons, learning how to walk, how to present yourself, so that you can handle any kind of character. But in order to start off you have to do things well and unfortunately the actors of today don't have that opportunity.
