This time in the form of a statue.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe statue stands beside the presidential palace and is an impressive sight. \u003cbr/\u003eSome say it is too impressive and officials want to reduce it - although others say it's  size reflects the nature of the person - he was and still is an invader .\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (Spanish)\u003cbr/\u003e\"People say it's too imposing. It's a monument that reveals domination. It was  to mark the city's 100th anniversary.  \u003cbr/\u003eBut nowadays Peruvians are taught to respect their Indian heritage and Pizarro is seen  as a looter and killer.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (Spanish)\u003cbr/\u003e\"When people erect a monument, it's to remember something grand or a benevolent  person, but not to commemorate and pay tribute to something that is damaging,  painful, disagreeable and offensive.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Santiago Agurto Calvo, Councilman Lima \u003cbr/\u003eThe council feel that a less dominating presence is necessary,  they want a Pizarro off  his high horse.  \u003cbr/\u003eAn image that doesn't remind them of their ancestors defeat but reflects his founding of  Lima in 1535 and the bringing together of the Inca and Spanish culture.\u003cbr/\u003eBut for sculptor and artist, Victor Delfin,  this is too sanitized a view.  In his view it  would be hypocritical to have a peaceful Pizarro when he was not a peaceful man.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (Spanish)\u003cbr/\u003e\"To change that image for a more benevolent one, change it for a more pacifist one,  would be to fool ourselves one more time.  It would contradict history! I find the whole  subject ridiculous.  We have so many other problems.
