Various of the delegates around the table\u003cbr/\u003eAfter several meetings and rounds of talks at the United Nations on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice hosted French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy for dinner at the Waldorf -Astoria hotel in New York.\u003cbr/\u003eRice said the two parties would discuss the Iran crisis and how to convince Tehran to meet the obligations placed on it by the international community. \u003cbr/\u003eRice has already warned the US might take steps outside the United Nations Security Council to pressure Iran to stop its nuclear programme.\u003cbr/\u003eThe relationship between Lebanon and Syria was also an important topic of conversation according to the leaders. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The United States and France have worked very mandate of the 11 month inquiry expires on June 15 but the investigation has run into difficulties, partly due to Syrian reluctance to cooperate and disputes over the veracity of witness statements.\u003cbr/\u003eThe cabinet has passed the decision to ask for a one year extension at an emergency session.\u003cbr/\u003eAn interim report in December implicated senior Syrian officials in the February 2005 killing and criticised Syria for its lack of cooperation with UN Investigators.\u003cbr/\u003eSyria, which ended its 29-year military presence in Lebanon a year ago after an
