But in the case of a storm, the earth passes through a very high concentration of dust given off by the comet that created this stream, and the net result is you can get meteor rates that are way above the normal. So that is what makes this special, and what makes it double special is that the predictions are that we probably won't hit any of these concentrations the next few opportunities, and so it may be the next storm, at least from the Leonids, won't happen until the year 2099.\"\u003cbr/\u003e3. And the first concentration will be passed through just when it's more or less overhead for Europe, and then the second one we'll pass through will be the one that we'll be seeing in the United States. storm.\u003cbr/\u003eIt may be the last chance for nearly a century to see such a spectacular Leonid display, say NASA scientists, because although the showers occur every November, some are more concentrated than others. \u003cbr/\u003eDespite a full moon, scientists predict Tuesday's storm of meteors will be visible in the night sky from Western Africa to the Eastern United States.\u003cbr/\u003eThe meteors are dust particles shed by Comet Tempel-Tuttle, which swings around the sun once every 33 years. \u003cbr/\u003eThe shower occurs each November, when the Earth's orbit takes it through the trail left by the comet.\u003cbr/\u003eThe dust for this year's show was actually laid down by the comet in 1866.\u003cbr/\u003eMost of the particles are smaller than a grain of rice but they enter the atmosphere at 72 kilometres per second (45 miles per second) and burn up from friction.\u003cbr/\u003eThe meteors are called Leonids because they appear to come from the direction of the constellation Leo.\u003cbr/\u003eBetween two-thousand and five-thousand tiny meteors per hour might be visible as shooting stars as they burn up in the atmosphere in brilliant streaks of light. \u003cbr/\u003eBut experts add that because of light from the full moon, observers might only be able to see a few hundred per hour. \u003cbr/\u003eThey predict the best viewing hours will start at about 0430 GMT on Tuesday in Europe and Africa, and around 0930 GMT in the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eAstronomers expect another such shower in
