It's been  attached to a sapling that's been bent over and this is a very common practice here in  the forest. These are set not for gorillas although they can harm gorillas. They're set for  small bush bark and dyker, and so on,  which are bush meat which local people come  into the forest and catch and then use for food. The problem is, of course, they not only  catch those animals but, from time to time, a gorilla can be caught. It can get its hand  caught, its leg caught and as a result can lose digits or, or suffer a nasty infection. \"    \u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: John Cooper, Naturalist\u003cbr/\u003eConfidence among the team members grows as they discover three of the females have  given birth during the war. \u003cbr/\u003eThis female named KAMPUNGA gave birth in March. Despite the refugee exodus  through the rain forest, she has managed to keep her offspring in good health.  \u003cbr/\u003eVets and naturalists are spending this month observing mother and baby for changes in  behaviour.
