authorities as al-Qaida's main station house in Europe before the September 11, 2001 attacks, officials said on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eAdel Ben Mabrouk, 39, and Mohamed Ben Riadh Nasri, 43, of Tunisia, arrived in Italy late on Monday, and were immediately taken into custody upon arrival in Milan. \u003cbr/\u003eBoth men are accused of being members of a militant group with ties to al-Qaida and of recruiting fighters for Afghanistan, officials said.\u003cbr/\u003eNasri spoke with prosecutors past midnight, and Mabrouk will be questioned in the next few days.\u003cbr/\u003eItalian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said on Tuesday that Washington has asked Italy to take in more Guantanamo detainees and given a list of names which Rome is studying.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said Italy has agreed \"in principle\" to take in others. \u003cbr/\u003eItalian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi promised US President Barack Obama at a White House meeting in June that Italy would accept three people as Europe.\"\u003cbr/\u003eLazhar Ben Mohamed Tlil, a key prosecution witness, said Nasri, known by his alias Abou Doujana, was head of an organisation of Tunisians at a camp in Afghanistan where recruits received both ideological and military training.\u003cbr/\u003eIt was at this camp, the witness said, that he and other recruits were taught that \"to kill infidels was the duty of every Muslim\" and were prepared to carry out suicide attacks.\u003cbr/\u003eNasri also had alleged links to Muslim fighters in Bosnia as well as Algerian militants, officials said in documents released after he appeared at\u003cbr/\u003ethe US military panel. \u003cbr/\u003eHe was also previously convicted in Italy for passing counterfeit money, and was convicted in Tunisia of being a member of a what authorities considered a terrorist organisation and sentenced to 10 years, the documents said.\u003cbr/\u003eHe told the US military that he did not belong to a Tunisian Islamist group, much less head one, and denies ever trying to overthrow the Tunisian\u003cbr/\u003egovernment.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Italy, Nasri is accused along with eight other people of criminal association, aiding illegal immigration and terrorism charges stemming from\u003cbr/\u003eMabrouk had been held without charge at Guantanamo since February 2002.\u003cbr/\u003eHe lived in Italy before travelling to Afghanistan in early 2001, according to the transcript of his hearing before the US military panel that reviewed\u003cbr/\u003ehis case. \u003cbr/\u003eUS authorities alleged he had links to al-Qaida and trained at one its camps.\u003cbr/\u003eThe US also alleged he had previously associated with extremists in Bosnia and had been sentenced to 20 years in prison in Tunisia for being a member of what authorities considered a terrorist organisation.\u003cbr/\u003eObama confirmed last month that he would miss his January deadline to close the Guantanamo prison - partly because he cannot persuade other nations to take the detainees.\u003cbr/\u003eThe US administration says about 90 of the estimated 210 men now held at the US military base can be released or repatriated. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Washington still has to figure out where it will try 40 to 60 suspected militants held at the base and where to relocate dozens more it wants to continue to hold without charge because it lacks the
