House hit by Indian shelling \u003cbr/\u003eIndian and Pakistani troops exchanged heavy mortar, artillery and machine-gun fire along the Kashmir frontier on Monday, firing across their international border. \u003cbr/\u003eThere were conflicting reports on the number of casualties in fighting over the past two days, with Pakistan saying it killed 40 Indian soldiers in intense fighting on Sunday. Indian officers denied they had suffered any casualties on that day.\u003cbr/\u003eIndian and Pakistani army statements agreed that the firing had extended along the international border that separates the two nuclear-armed nations in the southern part of Kashmir and southward into India's Punjab state . \u003cbr/\u003eThe village of Athmkam, on the Pakistani side of the border, was hit by shelling on Sunday evening. No one was killed but some of the injured were transferred to the Muzzafarabad hospital.\u003cbr/\u003ePakistan's army said India attacked several other villages on Sunday, killing nine civilians, including two women, and injuring 42 others. \u003cbr/\u003ePakistan said it retaliated, targeting Indian gun positions and that Indian forces had been pushed back from the
