newly proposed association agreement and resolve the difficult issue of the imprisonment of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.\u003cbr/\u003eKerry says the US is committed to helping Leonid Kozhara and the Ukraine government work through these difficult issues, and also called on Kiev to end \"the prosecution of some people, and particularly the former Prime Minister Tymoshenko.\"\u003cbr/\u003eTymoshenko was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2011 after a court found her guilty of abusing her office. \u003cbr/\u003eThe charges stemmed from a natural gas deal with Russia in 2009. \u003cbr/\u003eThe EU has called the prosecution politically motivated, and had shelved the association agreement as a result.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Tuesday Kozhara said he expects his country to sign the agreement later this year despite the EU's objections. \u003cbr/\u003eHe told AP that the government accepts that the Tymoshenko case is a problem in relations between Ukraine and the EU. \u003cbr/\u003eBut he said a single criminal case shouldn't be an obstacle to Ukraine signing an association agreement with the EU.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Ukraine government expects the European
