revolutionary hero Che Guevara into a world icon.\u003cbr/\u003eAlberto Díaz, also known as Korda, died of a heart attack, aged 72, while in Paris to attend an exhibition of his photographs, last Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eHis body was flown back to Havana and laid to rest at the Colón cemetery in the Herat of the capital.\u003cbr/\u003eKorda captured on film the events that altered the course of Cuban history before, during and after the Revolution of 1959.\u003cbr/\u003eKorda, whose real last names were Diaz Gutierrez, worked with the newspaper Revolucion immediately after Fidel Castro's guerrillas toppled Fulgencio Batista and was later a personal photographer for Castro.\u003cbr/\u003eHis most famous work, a portrait photograph of Che Guevara, went on to become one of the 100 best known photographs of the twentieth century.\u003cbr/\u003eThe photograph was taken at a memorial service for more than 100 crew members of a Belgian arms cargo ship killed in an attack that Cuba blamed on U.S.-backed counterrevolutionary forces.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter Guevara's death in Bolivia in 1967, the photograph was used on posters and T-shirts around the world.\u003cbr/\u003eLast year Korda won a copyright protection suit against a vodka company that tried to use the image in advertisements.\u003cbr/\u003eKorda said he had never made any money from the image of
