He also has appeared in several ads to speak about his condition. \u003cbr/\u003eFox, born in Canada, shot to fame in the '80s as Reaganite teen Alex P. Keaton on the NBC sitcom 'Family Ties.\" \u003cbr/\u003eAfter a successful movie career that included the \"Back to the Future\" series, he was lured back to TV by Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks, which produces \"Spin City\" in New York. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the political sitcom, Fox plays Michael Flaherty, the boyish, hardworking deputy to pompous New York Mayor Randall Winston, played by Barry Bostwick. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's unclear if DreamWorks will continue to produce \"Spin City\" after Fox leaves, but the studio hinted at a future relationship with Fox. \u003cbr/\u003e\"To be sure, we
