He's committed to working with me to make sure that those who report to us are cooperating fully, not only in this investigation but how do we work on counter-terrorism issues, generally.\"\u003cbr/\u003e12. Cutaway of Obama at podium\u003cbr/\u003eUS President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that the United States must be completely certain of all the facts before he decides on how the country will intervene in the Syrian conflict.\u003cbr/\u003eObama has previously said that the use of chemical weapons by Syrian leader Bashar Assad would mark an unacceptable escalation of the country's long-running civil war.\u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking at a White House news conference, the president said that while there is evidence that chemical weapons were used inside the country, \"we don't know when they were used, how they were used. We don't know who used them. We don't have a chain of custody that establishes what exactly happened.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIf it can be established that the Syrian government used chemical weapons, he added, \"we would have to rethink the range of options that are available to us\".\u003cbr/\u003e\"Obviously there are options to me that are on the shelf right now that we have not deployed,\" he said, noting that he had asked Pentagon planners last year for additional possibilities.\u003cbr/\u003eOn another issue, Obama said he would try again to close down the prison for extremism suspects in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.\u003cbr/\u003eObama said he's asked a team of officials to review the issue and will take it back to Congress again.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm going to go back at this.
