They are all made of hyaluronic acid which is a type of sugar which is found naturally in the body. The difference between the different fillers are how much there is cross linking within the fillers so some of the are a little thicker and designed for deeper lines and some are thinner that are used for more superficial area which is just below the eyes and fine lines say around the mouth. So we need an arsenal of fillers in order to treat different areas so it's not one filler that fits every need.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to Merz Pharma the company which makes the Belotero, the product adds volume after the first treatment.\u003cbr/\u003eMerz says although Belotero is made of the same material (HA) as some other dermal fillers, it has unique properties that allows it to adapt within the skin for softer and more even correction. \u003cbr/\u003eDr. Derek Jones runs the Skin Care and Laser Dermatology Clinic in BeverIy Hills.\u003cbr/\u003eHe is also an Associate Professor of Dermatology at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).\u003cbr/\u003eJones has experience as a principal researcher during several clinical trials of facial aesthetics, including the trials that led to the FDA approval of Juvederm and and the eyelash growth product Latisse. \u003cbr/\u003eHis current FDA research focuses on natural ways to tackle the atrophy of the tissue volume around the cheeks and lips.  \u003cbr/\u003eJones says: \"The introduction of the hyaluronic acids into the global marketplace completely transformed out industry and we can use them to treat the majority of things on the face with the exception of very fine etched in lines. When you put the two market leaders which are Restylane and Juvederm too superficially into the skin, it can result in a lump or a bump or a blue discoloration which we call the Tindle effect. The Tindle effect is a result of a lake if you will of the filler sitting too high in the skin. The difference with Belotero, which is a hyluronic acid as well, is it does not form a lake when it's injected very superficially into the skin. It basically gets into the nooks and crannies of the skin in a very even way and when light hits it, superficially, it doesn't read blue like the other ones.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThe company says the versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle areas such as the smiIe or laughter Iines.\u003cbr/\u003eCasey Jones is keen to lift the corners of her mouth.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 47 year old businesswoman says she could see a difference straight away.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says: \"It was easy to use. It seemed so natural after I was done. I had no negative side effects whatsoever. I felt like it enhanced my look but it wasn't overdone. I would do it again obviously. I think the results are exactly what you're looking for. I'm not trying to reinvent anything. I just want to look like the most refreshed version of myself.\" \u003cbr/\u003eDr. Marc Kayem of the RoyaI CoIIege of Surgeons of Canada (RCSC) agrees it's a good product for superficial and fine lines.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says: \"The really nice thing about Belotero is that it's thinner than some of the other ones we've had which allows us to put it more superficially in the skin. What that does is - to allow us to fill very fine lines we could not fill before. some of the fine lines for example the vertical lips lines that people can get when they get older or if their lines are around the corner of their mouth. The deeper lines will fill with a different type of filler usually and we didn't really have something available for the very fine lines because the product would be visible.\" \u003cbr/\u003eLike other fillers the Belotero is not a permanent fix. \u003cbr/\u003eMerz says BeIotero lasts for about six months and then slowly disappears.\u003cbr/\u003e80 year old Antoinette Shaker of Los Angeles has just decided the time had come to get rid of the lines around her lips and on her chin.\u003cbr/\u003eShaker has never used filler before, but is pleased with the result.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says: \"Looking at my face now, it's so unbelievable that the wrinkles are no longer there. It feels so great not to look in the mirror and see all the wrinkles on your face and on your lips, especially the lips where I had lines all over.
