1989.\u003cbr/\u003eAllegations he had affairs with up to twelve women were made in a Cape Town court in a hearing to decide if his divorce case will be heard in Britain or South Africa, where he and his estranged wife now live.\u003cbr/\u003eHis wife, who has received treatment for eating disorder and drug abuse is asking for 6.3 (m) million dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Cape Town court where Earl Spencer finds himself uncomfortably in the spotlight.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Monday Lockwood's lawyer told the court the case would include details of Spencer's affairs with up to a dozen women since their marriage in 1989.\u003cbr/\u003eBut a spokesperson for Earl Spencer denied the allegations on Monday night, and said he would be challenging them later in the hearing.\u003cbr/\u003eThe news of the divorce hearing hit the British press on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe brother of the late Princess of Wales is no friend of the British tabloids.\u003cbr/\u003eHe made an impassioned speech Diana's funeral in September in which he accused the press of hounding his sister to her death.\u003cbr/\u003eSpencer wants the divorce case to be settled in his adopted home of South Africa, while Lockwood wants it to be held in Britain. \u003cbr/\u003eShe argues the case involves two British nationals and most of the earl's assets are in\u003cbr/\u003eBritain.\u003cbr/\u003eLockwood is asking for 6.3 (m) million dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Tuesday Spencer's lawyer said Lockwood, who has received treatment for an eating disorder and drug problems, was incapable of managing any large lump sum from a divorce. \u003cbr/\u003eSpencer is  pushing for regular alimony payments, claiming most of his assets are tied up in properties he cannot sell.\u003cbr/\u003eThe couple moved to South Africa in 1996 after clashes with the media. \u003cbr/\u003eSpencer was then outraged over reports he had an affair and pictures taken of his wife while she was being treated for eating disorders.\u003cbr/\u003eThe
