0800GMT) the exchange's 51 brokers buy and sell stock in 27 listed companies held over from the Saddam era.\u003cbr/\u003eKeeping track of prices is still done the old fashioned way - using a pen and a white board.\u003cbr/\u003eLast month, the exchange re-opened after it was suspended for 15 months following last year's US-led invasion and toppling of Saddam Hussein.\u003cbr/\u003eMore than 500 (m) million shares were traded on its opening day - more than the Saddam-era stock exchange ever did.\u003cbr/\u003eThe reopening of the Iraqi Stock Exchange is part of ongoing efforts to revive the Exchange.\u003cbr/\u003eBefore the war, the Baghdad Stock Exchange listed well over 100 Iraqi companies.\u003cbr/\u003eNow it lists just 27 - a modest start, but one which many Iraqis hope will help to put the country back on the path to economic growth.\u003cbr/\u003eDozens more companies are expected to go public in the coming months.\u003cbr/\u003eSalam says only Iraqis are investing in the market, but big changes are planned for the coming months to open the door to overseas investors.\u003cbr/\u003eA depository centre is expected to be up and running within six months, allowing foreign investors to start trading.\u003cbr/\u003eBrokers also expect to swap the current pen and white board for an automated system in the near future.\u003cbr/\u003eAlong with a bond market and a foreign
