Great Britain, from whom Rhodesia unilaterally declared independence in 1965, had called the conference and was to sponsor the formal opening in Geneva on 25 October. The conference was to discuss the transfer of power to a government elected by the majority, the black Rhodesians, most of whom have hitherto been disenfranchised by the present white regime. power, what is left really is the working out of the mechanics of the transfer of power. i don't see anything -- they agreed to it. what else can be done for a transfer of power?\"
