According to carnival experts considered one of the places where the samba rhythm got its birth.\u003cbr/\u003eWith a total of 18 victories since the beginning of the samba schools competition, it�s not difficult to find out why Mangueira is so popular in the country. \u003cbr/\u003eFounded in 1931 the Salgueiro school, on the other hand, it is known to be a more traditional school famous for having the residents of the majority of 14 Rio shanty towns in the Tijuca region as participants. Salgeiro does not allow outsiders or tourists in their parade.\u003cbr/\u003eFor Salgueiro, this year's carnival will have a sad note, as the first flag holder, Rita Freitas, will make her last carnival parade. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Sunday, February, 26th, at 21:00 local time (23:00 GMT) Rita Freitas will celebrate her 50th birthday and more than 30 years of carnival parade for Salgueiro. The samba school of Salgueiro will be the first school to parade this year. \u003cbr/\u003eA total of 770 thousand tourists, 20% of them foreigners, are expected for the five days party. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Brazilian carnival starts on Friday, February, 4th, when the King Momo gets the key of the city from the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro. Already, the 22-thousand hotel bedrooms capacity in Rio is fully booked for carnival week. \u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the ABIH - Brazilian Association of Hotel Industry - the city of Rio de Janeiro
